Crown Prince Graces Swimming Competition

His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah graced the second and final day of the 2nd Brunei Open and Masters Swimming Championship at International School Brunei (ISB) Swimming Pool.
Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah binti Pengiran Haji Salleh Ab Rahaman; Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Muda Abdul Muntaqim ibni Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Paduka Seri Pengiran Muda Mahkota Pengiran Muda Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah; Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Anak Muneerah Madhul Bolkiah binti Dull Yang Teramat Mulia Paduka Seri Pengiran Muda Mahkota Pengiran Muda Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah; and Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Muda Muhammad Aiman ibni Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Paduka Seri Pengiran Muda Mahkota Pengiran Muda Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah were also present.
Two personal best records by Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Muda Abdul Muntaqim were broken in the men's 50m freestyle and the men's 100m IM events registering 39.16s and 1:47.68 respectively. The ISB Hammerheads swimmer bested his previous time of 40.30s in the freestyle and his old mark of 1:54.30 in the IM event.
Brunei national junior swimmer Nur Haziq Samil won the 100m butterfly, 100m IM, 50m freestyle, after a minor set-back from losing the top place in the 50m backstroke to Toby Harris, Jerudong Swimming Club swimmer. The representative of the Brunei Speed Swimming Club also won the 200m freestyle and 400m IM.
Fatin Farahnair Mohd Faizal, the championship's rising talent, finished second place in the women's 100m butterfly event but won the top place in the 100m IM event registering at 1:20.41. A revised time of 1:17.73 in the butterfly event, the Kelab Rekreasi Petrolium swimmer has already beat her old time of 1:20.00.
Panaga Stingray's Hannah Smith owned the title for the female biggest winner of the day triumphing in the 200m freestyle, 50m backstroke and the 100m butterfly.
Noah Kruger, placed sixth in the 50m freestyle and eleventh in the 50m backstroke. However, he managed to break his personal best for both events at 30.07s, previously 32.72s and 40.08s, previously 42.30s, respectively. The ISB Hammerheads swimmer also won the 50m breaststroke.
