Bandar Seri Begawan

Two companies and an individual were caught disposing rubbish illegally in a public area by the Law Enforcement Division of the Bandar Seri Begawan (BSB) Municipal Department. Fines are imposed to both parties.

The two companies were issued with a compound fine of $200 each. The individual was fined $100 under Chapter 30, Section 12 (1) (a) and 12 of the Minor Offences Act, where the storing or disposing of items in public places is a violation that carries the penalty of a compound fine that must be settled within seven days.

Members of the public are reminded to dispose of unwanted items at allocated bins, while companies are reminded to maintain standards of hygiene and comply with regulations under the Minor Offences Act.

The Law Enforcement Division will continue to conduct inspections in areas under the jurisdiction of the BSB Municipal Department.
