Following the grading programme by the Ministry of Education, they held a certificate presentation ceremony to the canteens and kiosks of sixth form centres, colleges, and government schools in Belait district. It was held in Sungai Tali Primary School’s multipurpose hall, Lumut.

Fifteen canteens had their evaluation assessment, in 16 different categories, last year from March to September. The result showed that among the school canteens, 2 received grade ‘B’, 10 received grade ‘C’, 3 received grade ‘D’, and none received grade ‘A’ or ‘F’.

The Assistant Head of Health Promotion Unit of the Department of Schools, Ministry of Education, Hajah Jamilah binti Haji Mohammad Ali, welcomed the guest of honour Pengiran Haji Rosli bin Pengiran Haji Halus, Acting Director of Administration and Services at the Ministry of Education.

The event objectives is to better and increase the quality of service provided by school canteen and kiosks. Also, to investigate how they perform in handling containment of infectious diseases and non-infectious problems – diarrhea, obesity, food poisoning and so on – from spreading. The function also assisted in development responsibility and positive attitudes of the owners.

Previously this event was held in Brunei-Muara district and is now currently being planned to be held in Temburong district.
