e-Syariah Officially Launched

 January 22nd, 2017  |  09:35 AM  |   1553 views

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

The launching of e-Syariah yesterday aims to ensure faster filing and retrieval of documents.

E-Syariah is expected to raise efficiency and productivity of the court as the system provides judges and registrars access to case files from any location as well as simultaneous access to several case files.

Launched yesterday by the Chief Syar'ie Judge Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar, the e-Syariah system is part of the continuous efforts by Syariah Courts to upgrade services with support from the State Judiciary Department.

The launching took place during the second annual gathering of Syariah Courts held yesterday at its multi-purpose hall in Jalan Stoney. The e-Syariah system will reduce the use of paper and the need for storage space to keep it apart from avoiding the hassles associated with the physical transfer of files.
The Chief Syar'ie Judge in his remarks prior to the launch noted that the new facility is more organised and systematic and will smoothen transactions carried out by both sections of court.

What is most interesting is that the system will facilitate online monitoring of cases handled by all Syar'ie judges at all court stages and further improve handling of the cases,
he added.

Through the e-Syariah portal, members of the public can make enquiries on court services and procedures, making the Syariah Courts more transparent and easily accessible.

The portal also provides online Faraid calculation for the public, providing accurate result.

Users can make calculations on all types of Faraid claims involving one generation and within seconds they can get results on legal heirs.
