Indonesians National Receive Jail Time, Whipping for Overstaying

The Magistrate's Court yesterday passed jail sentences and whippings on three Indonesian men who pleaded guilty to overstaying in the country.
Supriyadi, 34, got six month in jail with three whippings for overstaying after his employment pass expired on June 11, 2016.
Forty-nine-year-old Hadi got 10 months' jail with three whippings for overstaying after his visit pass expired on October 16, 2015.
Ade Erwana, 29, got 10 months with three whippings for overstaying after his employment pass expired on December 14, 2014.
Senior Magistrate Lailatul Zubaidah binti Hussain heard from Immigration Prosecutor Adi Yusra bin Haji Adnan that the defendants were arrested in a raid conducted by Immigration enforcement officers at a rented house in STKRJ Kampong Lambak Kirk at 10.15pm on January 17, 2017.
