Crowds flocked the International Convention Center (ICC) yesterday for the YES Letop event organized by Battle Pro Marketing  and Management Services (BattleProMMS) . The event was launched yesterday by Datin Paduka Dr. Hjh Norlila binti Dato Paduka Hj. Abdul Jalil , Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Culture Youth and Sports where 86 vendors took part in the event.

According to to Syukri Jamil, Junior Project Manager of BattleProMMS, “YES stands for Year End Sales, a follow up from our biggest and latest event, the Letop Lebaran. Letop Lebaran was a pre-Hari Raya event while YES Letop caters for back to school and back to work. Parents can do their shopping while children enjoy the activities held.

There was an eclectic mix of vendors showing their products, some even made in Brunei. In an interview with Brudirect.com, Hani Masir, Co-Founder of Covered by Anisa shared her journey and story behind her muslimah friendly fashion line. “After studying abroad, I came back to Brunei and found the need for comfortable, weather friendly and covered clothing. We (me and my sister) rebranded our existing brand and design our own clothing line.” When asked on her expectations during this event she said that “we will be having a mix and match offers for our shawls”.

Another MSME (Micro Small Medium Enterprise) Sparkly Domestic Divas, a local company providing home cleaning services is offering packages as well. On an interview with the Santy, the company’s founder, “not only that this creates opportunity for clients but also it will provide employment opportunity to locals as well as we only employ workers”.

The event also saw MSME doing charity causes to give back to the community. Almas Volunteer club are doing a mission called “Mission to Help 500 Orphans”. The aim of the mission is to ease of the burden of orphans and children in need for the start of the school term. Visitors can drop off school supplies such as bags, stationeries, calculators and books to their booth from 10 am to 10pm throughout the event. According to Wadi Sharun of Almas Volunteer club, “we accept any forms of school supply donations for both primary and secondary school students”.
