MIRI: Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party (SPDP) senior vice president Dr Roland Dom Mattu, continues his field visits to meet constituents in N78 Mulu although Barisan Nasional will be fielding Dato Gerawat Gala as a BN direct candidate in the state election.

The latest visit was on April 12, to Sungai Poyut, Lubok Nibong where Dr Roland was accompanied by party members and supporters.

The team was welcomed to the 50-door longhouse by village chief Philip Sebatang and a crowd of over 1,000 supporters, including 16 longhouse chiefs, from nearby villages.

Dr Roland disclosed that in his capacity as the Mulu SPDP pro tem chairman, he had extensively travelled to the constituency in the past 10 weeks.

“During the visits, I met various ethnic communities of Kenyah, Penan, Saban, Iban, Berawan/Tering and Kelabit and listened to their grouses and grievances.

“I also shared my views on the way forward for the people in Mulu which is one of the most under-developed constituency in Sarawak,” he told The Borneo Post yesterday.

Dr Roland also visited Long Lellang yesterday afternoon to meet his supporters.
