A total of 24 members of the Brunei national wushu team will compete in the upcoming 3rd Ding Feng Cup International Wushu Championship 2016, scheduled to take place at the Han Chiang Stadium, Penang, Malaysia, today and tomorrow.

The team departed from the Brunei International Airport on Thursday.

The national team coach, Zhao Chunjie will lead the Brunei contingent at the competition.

Wushu Coach Zhao Chunjie expressec her confidence for the competition, anc said they hoped to gain gold medals at the Penang wushu meet.

She 1 said dig competition will give invaluable experience and the relevant exposure to her team.

Zhao Chunjie also expressed her appreciation for the tremendous support by the parents of the wushu team members.

The 3rd Ding Feng Cup where her team will meet opponents of varying talents and skills, and this will put them in better stead for international competitions such as the SEA Games, she added.

National Wushu Coach Li Hui was also at the airport to see the team off for the Penang wushu challenge.

Chris Wong, a parent of one of the wushu team members said the parents supported the sports trip in terms of air fare, accommodation costs and other expenses.
