Two local companies were fined after its representatives pleaded guilty in the Magistrate's Court to charges of failing to pay income tax.

Pratunas Sdn Bhd received a total fine of $4,000 for failing to furnish a return of income to the Collector of Income Tax for years ended December 31, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014.

Kilang Merchu Jaya Sdn Bhd received a total fine of $4,000 for failing to furnish a return of income to the Collector of Income Tax for years ended December 31, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014.

DPP Amiriah Ali represented the Public Prosecutor.

Magistrate Azrimah Abdul Rahman presided over the cases.
