The Authority for Info-communications Technology Industry of Brunei Darussalam (AITI) held a Doa Kesyukuran ceremony. Held to commemorate World Telecommunication and Information Society Day, it took place at Az-Zakireen Mosque in Kampung Meragang, 17th May afternoon.

 

Present was Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Shamhary bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mustapha, Minister of Transport and Infocommunications as Chairman of AITI. The ceremony included Sunat Hajat prayer, reading of Surah Yaasin, Tahlil and Doa Kesyukuran. World Telecommunication and Information Society Day is celebrated every 17th of May. With the theme "Digital Innovation for Sustainable Development", the celebration emphasised the role of ICT and innovative technology in helping to tackle the world's challenges, from fighting climate change to eliminating hunger and poverty.
