His Majesty Audience Ceremony

​His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam received in audience His Excellency Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary who is on an official visit to the country. The Audience Ceremony took place at Istana Nurul Iman, 16th May afternoon.

 

Accompanying His Excellency at the Audience Ceremony was Her Excellency Judit Pach, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to Brunei Darussalam with residence in Singapore. Also present was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd Yusof, Second Minister of Foreign Affairs.

 

During the Audience Ceremony, His Majesty and His Excellency reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the existing bonds of friendship since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1992, and further touched on matters of mutual importance to develop the bilateral cooperation between Brunei Darussalam and Hungary such as education cooperation, in particular the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship between the Government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and the Government of Hungary on 16th May 2024. Discussions also included the strengthening of cooperation through the ASEAN-EU Dialogue Relations.
