Residents of Kampung Sungai Akar cast their vote to select a new village head at a voting session on 12th May morning, at the Rashidah Sa'adatul Bolkiah Mosque.

In attendance was Pengiran Muhammad Ameer Mubaarak bin Pengiran Haji Hashim, Acting Brunei Muara District Officer. The sole candidate for the position was 32-year-old Awang Haji Muhammad Wafil Wafee bin Haji Ramlee. Also present was a Member of the Legislative Council.

A similar event was also held for Kampung Kiarong, Zone Two at the Datu Ratna Haji Muhammad Jaafar Primary School. Present was Pengiran Kamal Ariffin bin Pengiran Haji Mohd Yassin, Acting Assistant Brunei Muara District Officer. After a 3-day vote, 34-year-old Awang Mohammad Shair bin Haji Samsudin was selected as the village head.

The village head voting and selection was also held for Kampung Merangking in Belait District. The sole candidate for the position was Awang Nurulizam bin Haji Abdul Rahman, aged 36. In attendance was Awang Haji Amirol Hafidzin bin Haji Muhammad, Acting Belait District Officer. Also present were Members of the Legislative Council.
