With the end of Ramadhan, the first of Syawal marks the beginning of the moment that all Muslims look forward to after a month of fasting.

The first of Syawal, marks the start of Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations for Muslims in the country. The country's Muslims should be grateful to Allah SWT for being able to see both months in their glory.

Throughout Ramadhan, mosques and surau were glorified. Old, young and children together performed terawih and witir prayers, tadarus Al-Qur'an, qiamulail and other religious acts.

Ramadhan Kareem teaches Muslims the importance of close relations between fellow Muslims. Donations poured in and various forms of aid were extended to those in need so that they could experience the blessings of fasting and celebrate Aidilfitri with happiness. Ramadhan, a month full of blessings and forgiveness educates Muslims to be patient, thrifty, civilized and various other mahmudah qualities.

Now Ramadhan has gone, but the impact of tarbiah should still be felt on every Muslim's soul.

The Syawal that we are going through now, needs to be appreciated because it can be a field of istiqamah for long-lasting righteous practices. May the month of Syawal bring deep understanding to the soul of every individual who successfully completed the test of Ramadhan.
