Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) yesterday organised a special MIB lecture at its Jubilee Hall.
Assistant Chief of Adat Istiadat Negara Pengiran Dr. Hidop bin Pengiran Haji Samsuddin presented the talk titled 'Adat Istiadat Mendukung Keharmonian dan Memangkin Pembangunan.'

The audience comprised Deputy Director of Centre for Promotion of Knowledge and Language Pengiran Dr. Saiful Bahrin bin Pengiran Haji Kula, UNISSA officials and 190 undergraduates.

The lecture explained that regulation is constantly fluid, and even continues to flourish and grow with any other cultural elements, and elements of progress in accordance with the character of Brunei.

Pengiran Dr. Hidop also explained that Adat Istiadat was inherited from our great-grandfathers since time immemorial.

The durability it has lasted is a symbol of Brunei Malay civilisation, including Istiadat Berpuspa, Permasyhuran and Istiadat Mengelar Pembesar Diraja.

The seminar concluded with a Q&A session and presentation of tokens of appreciation to the Assistant Chief of Adat Istiadat Negara.
