A Trolley Ended Up On Top Of A Lamppost And No One Understands How

That’s one big night out… (Picture: SWNS)

It’s a classic trick we all think we’ve seen before – from shoes hanging from trees to traffic cones in unusual places.

But how about a shopping trolley on top of a lamppost?

I’m sure you’re thinking what I’m thinking – how on Earth did someone manage that? Surely it would take more than a big night out to get that up there…

But it’s true – fire and rescue crews confirmed they were called to reports of a ‘dangerous structure’ in Malvern Shopping Park, Worcestershire, two weeks ago.

Gemma Barker was at work when she spotted the bizarre scene – and took a photo in case ‘nobody believed her’.

She said: ‘Yesterday evening after work, I pulled onto the retail park and looked up as I approached M&S at the trolley dangling from the lamp post and couldn’t stop laughing.

‘It looked like it couldn’t be possible for something that heavy to be all the way up there – and yet it was.

‘No idea who did it or how they did it, but it made me laugh.

‘I honestly thought nobody would believe me if I told them, so I tried to photograph it as best I could.’

She snapped the image of the trolley when it was around 30ft (10m) in the air, before fire crews used ropes to remove it at lunchtime on October 5.

Sharing the pictures on social media, one person wrote, ‘That’s actually an impressive shot,’ and another said: ‘I just wanna know how.’

Another added: ‘Some pranksters no doubt but you’ve got to admire the effort and determination. I’ve seen them dumped in canals etc but this is a first!’

A traffic cone perched precariously on top of a lamppost in Milton Keynes over the summer received similar attention.

Jedd Eagleton, who posted the image, gravely warned those on Facebook to be ‘careful of this particular lamppost’.
