Offences Under Immigration Act

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

 

3 foreigners were sentenced to imprisonment and whipping for offences under the Immigration Act, Chapter 17.

 

24-year old runaway employee, Mujahid from Bangladesh was sentenced to 6 months imprisonment and 3 whippings for overstaying in the country for 754 days after his Immigration Pass had expired.

 

Meanwhile, Vietnamese Canh Thinh Nguyen, aged 41, was sentenced to 13 months imprisonment and 3 whippings for entering the country without going through the immigration post, and unlawful return after removal.

 

Another Vietnamese, 44 year-old Anh Quyet Bui was also sentenced to 13 months imprisonment and 3 whippings for entering the country without going through the immigration post, and unlawful return after removal.
