SELANGOR

Four police reports have been lodged in connection with tiger sightings in Batang Kali, Goh Tong Jaya, Serendah and Kuala Kubu Baru.

Hulu Selangor deputy OCPD Deputy Supt Mohd Asri Mohd Yunus said the police have informed the Wildlife and National Parks Department (Perhilitan) of the sightings so that the department can take early action to ensure the safety of residents in the affected areas.

"Perhilitan is investigating the sightings by installing several cameras to locate the tiger. We urge the public to stay vigilant and be careful while conducting activities such as farming and hiking," he said in a statement on Sunday (Sept 3).

DSP Mohd Asri advised the public to remain calm and not be distressed by the sightings.

"We urge the public to come forward if they have any information to assist the police. Those with information or inquiries can contact the Hulu Terengganu police at 03-60641132," he said.
