His Royal Highness Prince Doctor Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Pro-Chancellor of Universiti Brunei Darussalam, UBD, officiated the UBD Convocation Festival 2023, 14th August morning. Themed, 'Arts and Technology', the festival is held in conjunction with UBD's 35th Convocation Ceremony.

Upon arrival, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince was greeted by Yang Berhormat Datin Seri Setia Doctor Dayang Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Md Salleh, Minister of Education and Doctor Hazri bin Haji Kifle, Vice Chancellor of UBD. The reading of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat was led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar.

His Royal Highness then launched the UBD Convocation Festival 2023. The ceremony was highlighted with stage performances, poems and songs. His Royal Highness then proceeded to view an exhibition of four arts and technology projects by UBD undergraduates and graduands. Organised by the Student Affairs Division and the UBD Students Association, the exhibition highlights the constructive ideas of youth.

UBD 2025 Vision focuses on several key strategic goals including, towards a university excelling in teaching and research.
