Conferment Of State Decorations

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam conferred Brunei Darussalam State Decorations to 110 recipients in conjunction with His Majesty's 77th Birthday Celebration. The ceremony took place on 26th July afternoon, at Balai Singgahsana Indera Kenchana, Istana Nurul Iman.
Also present were His Majesty's sons and brother;
- His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office;
- His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik;
- His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen;
- And His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah.
His Majesty first conferred the Darjah Seri Paduka Mahkota Brunei Yang Amat Mulia Darjah Ketiga, or The Most Honourable Order of Seri Paduka Mahkota Brunei Third Class, SMB, to 14 recipients comprising officers from the Ministry of Defence and His Majesty's Office.
His Majesty also conferred the Darjah Setia Negara Brunei Yang Amat Bahagia Darjah Keempat or The Most Blessed Order of Setia Negara Brunei Fourth Class, PSB, to 93 recipients comprising government officers; the private sector and athletes. The conferment of State Decorations is a motivation to boost the enthusiasm of government officers and employees as well as the private sector to continue serving the country.
The three recipients of the Darjah Seri Ugama Islam Negara Brunei Yang Amat Bersinar Darjah Kelima, or The Most Eminent Order of Islam Brunei Fifth Class, PUB, comprised officers from the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
Doa Selamat was read by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doctor Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti.
The ceremony was attended by Pengiran-Pengiran Cheteria; Cabinet Ministers; Members of the Privy Council; Deputy Ministers; Pengiran-Pengiran Peranakan; Pehin-Pehin Manteri; Manteri-Manteri Hulubalang; Ambassadors; High Commissioners; Permanent Secretaries; Deputy Permanent Secretaries and Heads of Government Departments.
