​His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam joined the country's citizens and residents in performing the Mass Fardu Maghrib and Isyak Prayers; Reading of Surah Yasin, Tahlil and Doa Kesyukuran in conjunction with His Majesty's 77th Birthday Celebration. The ceremony was held 14th July late afternoon, at Jame' 'Asr Hassanil Bolkiah in Kiarong.

Upon arrival, His Majesty was greeted by Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Indera Setia Diraja Sahibul Karib Pengiran Anak Haji Idris bin Pengiran Maharaja Lela Pengiran Muda Abdul Kahar, Yang Di-Pertua of Adat Istiadat Negara,

- Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Minister of Home Affairs as Chairman of the National Committee for the Royal birthday celebration;

- Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs;

- AND Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Defence.

Also present were His Majesty's sons and brother:

- His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office;

- His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik;

- His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen;

- And His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah.

The Mass Fardu Maghrib Prayer was led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar.

Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim also led the Sunat Hajat prayer to seek blessings from Allah Subahanahu Wata'ala for His Majesty's long life.

Yang Dimuliakan Begawan Pehin Khatib Dato Paduka Haji Awang Mustafa bin Haji Murat then led the reading of Surah Yasin and Tahlil.

Doa Kesyukuran was read by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim.

The Mass Fardhu Isyak prayer was led by Yang Dimuliakan Begawan Pehin Khatib Dato Paduka Haji Mustafa.

The traditional Grand Royal Birthday Parade will be held the next day 15th July 2023, followed by the Audience and Investiture Ceremony.
