Twenty participants attended the module on Business Lean Canvas at the iCentre yesterday The lecture was presented by Ambrose Nathan, Managing Consultant of BizAdvize Services Sdn Bhd.
To break the ice, Ambrose asked participants to go around and get into groups to form companies with a viable product by the end of the session.
Throughout the module, the attendees got to know each other, appoint designations to each participant for their pseudo-companies and come up with ideas on what product could work in today's global market.
Ambrose, in an interview with the media said the participants were grouped together to come up with new ideas.
He added that he wants the participants to question each other on their ideas and find ways on how they can improve it.
Ambrose said that the most important lesson for a startup is to fail.
"Many businesses in the world are not sustainable, take Friendster for example, Facebook is the same product but they did it better, and now Friendster is no more," he added.
Another important lesson that the entrepreneurs took away was when to 'pivot', which is to change their original idea.
He explained that when an idea does not work, the faster a business pivots their idea, the less money they will lose, as for any business time is money.
