BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

Over 50 members of Perguruan Seni Pencak Silat Melayu Gerak 41' were yesterday involved in a mass exercise, showcasing the Malay art of self defence at Jalan Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien.

The exercise was part of activities lined' up in conjunction with the Bandarku Ceria event held in the capital.

Led by coach Haji Ibrahim bin Hj Mohd Yussof and Anuar bin Haji Minggas, the self-defence exercise was one of the initiatives by the association to promote a healthy lifestyle through traditional Brunei Malay martial arts, and at the same time to demonstrate to the public the skills of association members. Currently, the association has over 200 members.

Other activities held at the Bandarku Ceria event included bargain sales and family cycling activities.

The event entered its fourth week yesterday, receiving encouraging response from both the public and small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
