​His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam arrived in Jeddah for an Official Visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia which will begin on 9th April 2023. Accompanying His Majesty and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri were members of the Royal Family.

Upon arrival at the Royal Pavilion of King Abdulaziz International Airport, His Majesty and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri were welcomed by His Royal Highness Prince Badr bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of Makkah; His Excellency Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Alkassabi, Minister of Commerce and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority of Foreign Trade; and His Excellency Emad bin Abdulaziz Al-Muhanna, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Brunei Darussalam. Also present to greet His Majesty and Her Majesty on arrival were Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy; Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd. Yusof, Second Minister of Foreign Affairs; and His Excellency Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Yusoff bin Haji Awang Ismail, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brunei Darussalam to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as their respective spouses.

Whilst in Saudi Arabia, His Majesty is expected to attend a meeting with His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia.

His Majesty and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri as well as members of the Royal Family will also perform Umrah. Brunei Darussalam and Saudi Arabia enjoy warm and long-standing relations since its establishment on 1st July 1987, which include cooperation in the fields of religious affairs; Hajj and Umrah; visa arrangements; economy and energy.
