RBS Organise Meeting at PB

A library Reciprocal Borrowing Scheme (RBS) meeting was recently held at Politeknik Brunei (PB) which discussed on the improvement of the scheme.
The meeting, which was chaired by Hajah Norsenah binti Haji Mohd Nasir, Head of Library of PB, was attended by 11 heads of library as well as senior officers and representatives.
The role of the library as an information centre is seen to be challenging. To avoid the further marginalisation of libraries, various approaches have been taken to have it work and contribute to the life of mankind.
The RBS service helps to promote in upgrading lifelong learning in support of the Brunei Vision 2035.
The scheme ago seeks to strengthen the cooperation among the seven libraries in the country namely at Universiti Brunei Darussalam, Universiti Teknologi Brunei, Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali, Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan, PB, IBTE Sultan Saiful Rijal Campus and IBTE Jefri Bolkiah Campus.
The scheme serves to facilitate access to borrowing materials between libraries; strengthening and deepening cooperation among libraries; increase the use of library collections; increase the number of visitors to the library; and attracting users to use library services.
