​Jobseekers are encouraged to have an open mind, practise self-improvement and not to give up easily in job search. What is important in seeking sustenance is to correct one's intention and purpose, which is to meet the needs of the individual and their dependent. This was among the content of Friday Sermon, titled 'Earth: A Vast Expanse of Sustenance.' The sermon underlined that in Islam, there are several practices that can be done to open wide the door of sustenance. This includes be pious to Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala, avoid sins and vice, foster a relationship, perform the Sunat Dhuha prayer regularly, recite Istighfar, giving alms regularly and make supplications.

The Government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has established the Manpower Planning and Employment Council, MPEC which focus on planning marketable and beneficial workforce that is able to address unemployment issues in Brunei Darussalam. Hence, a number of initiatives and programmes have been introduced and are currently implemented with the aim to assist local job seekers to improve their skills and capabilities to make them more marketable. As Muslims, we must strive to seek halal sustenance and always be grateful, be patient and be satisfied with any blessings from Allah.
