​The Department of Economic Planning and Statistics, JPES, Ministry of Finance and Economy issued a compound fine and two warning notices to three business premises under the Price Control Act, Chapter 142 and Regulations under it.

During a routine inspection, the JPES through the Department of Consumer Affairs found that Soon Lee Mega Mart was displaying price tags that are not consistent with the prices recorded in the system. The company was issued a $500 compound fine. Meanwhile, two warning notices were issued to two business premises at the end of September for displaying confusing price tags. As of last month, 63 per cent of complaints were received through Talian Darussalam 123; 11 per cent from the PenggunaBijak application; and the rest were from emails and other means.
