243 graduates received Doctor of Philosophy, PhD and, Master's degrees, Post Graduate Diplomas, Bachelor degrees, Higher National Diplomas and Diplomas in various disciplines at the 12th Convocation of the Seri Begawan Religious Teachers University College, KUPU SB. His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, Chancellor of KUPU SB, conferred the degrees and diplomas to the graduates. The ceremony was held at the International Convention Centre in Berakas, 1st October morning.

The event began with the reading of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doctor Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti.

Upon arrival, His Majesty was greeted by Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Othman, the Minister of Religious Affairs as the Chair of the KUPU SB Council; and Doctor Haji Adanan bin Haji Basar, Ra'es of KUPU SB.

The reading of Al-Quran, Surah Al-Hajj Verses 77 to 78 and Surah Al'Alaq Verses 1 to 5 were presented by the graduates.

In his welcoming address, the Ra'es of KUPU SB among other matters highlighted the establishment of the Faculty of Social Science Education which has started its function by organizing several courses.

His Majesty then delivered the titah of conferment of degrees and diplomas to the graduates.

Of the 243 graduates who received Degrees and Diplomas, 2 graduates received DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY, 5 graduates received Master's Degrees, 50 received Postgraduate Diplomas; 80 Bachelors of Religious Education; 76 received Higher National Diplomas; and 30 graduates received Diplomas.

The Faculty of Social Science Education of KUPU SB offers the university's core courses. The programmes include Doctor of Philosophy, Religious Education in History and Civilisation. Doa Selamat was read by the State Mufti.

KUPU SB is responsible in producing pious, learned, highly skilled as well as committed educators and leaders.
