Members of the public can enjoy various activities in the heart of the capital on a car-free Sunday, at the `Bandarku Ceria' event that will kick off tomorrow, during which roads will be closed to traffic from 6am to 10am.
At the same time, the Tourism Development Department is calling on everyone to take part in a `selfie' heritage trail within Bandar Seri Begawan, by registering at the Heritage Checkpoint in the Secretariat Building, between 8am to 8.30am, tomorrow.
Participants are required to take `selfie' shots at 10 listed heritage sites and then upload those pictures to their social media platforms, with the tag #discoverbrunei #bandarkuceria.
The first 100 participants to complete the heritage trail and return to the checkpoint will be awarded prizes.
Meanwhile, there will also be an aerobics session, car boot sales, bouncing castles, street bazaars, village consultative council exhibits, flower stalls and an AIDS educational booth.
The roads that will be closed for four hours include Jalan Sultan Omar 'Ali Saifuddin, Jalan Stoney, Jalan Masjid Omar Ali Saifuddien, Jalan McArthur, Jalan James Pearce, Jalan Pemancha, Jalan Elizabeth II and Jalan Pretty.
The car-free Sunday is the latest initiative from several ministries to promote a healthy lifestyle through recreational exercise, and to reduce the country's carbon footprint.
