His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam graced the 76 Times Khatam Al-Quran Ceremony by Mukim and Kampung Consultative Council Members and School as well as Higher Education Institution Students Nationwide in conjunction with His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's 76th Birthday celebration 2022.

 

The ceremony took place yesterday afternoon at Istana Nurul Iman. Over One Thousand individuals joined the ceremony as an expression of the citizens and residents' gratitude for Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala's blessings in making Brunei Darussalam be continuously peaceful and prosperous under the wise leadership of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.

 

Upon arrival, His Majesty and Her Majesty were greeted by;

 

- Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Indera Setia Diraja Sahibul Karib Pengiran Anak Haji Idris bin Pengiran Maharaja Lela Pengiran Muda Abdul Kahar, Yang Di-Pertua of Adat Istiadat Negara;

 

 

 

- Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs;

 

- Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohammad Isham bin Haji Jaafar, Minister of Health;

 

- Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Minister of Home Affairs;

 

- Yang Berhormat Datin Seri Setia Dr. Dayang Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Md Salleh, Minister of Education;

 

- Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doctor Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti;

 

- Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Shahbandar Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Mohd Nawawi bin Pehin Orang Kaya Shahbandar Haji Awang Mohd Taha, Private and Confidential Secretary to His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, and

 

- Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Penggawa Laila Bentara Istiadat Diraja Dalam Istana, Pengiran Haji Alauddin bin Pengiran Paduka Tuan Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar, Grand Chamberlain as Co-Advisors of the Ceremony's Executive Committee.

 

 

Also in attendance were His Majesty's sons, brother and daughters,

 

- His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah;

 

- His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Raabi'atul 'Adawiyyah;

 

 

 

- His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Wakeel;

 

- His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah;

 

- Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Majeedah Nuurul Bolkiah;

 

- Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Hafizah Sururul Bolkiah;

 

- AND Her Royal Highness Princess Ameerah Wardatul Bolkiah.

 

Also present were,

 

- Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna, Ambassador At-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs;

 

- and Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Amal Umi Kalthum Al-Islam as well as other members of the Royal Family.

 

The ceremony commenced with the reading of surah Al-Fatihah led by the State Mufti.

 

The mass reading of Khatam Al-Quran by the Khatam Al-Quran participants from surah Adh Dhuhaa until surah Al-Masad was led by Awang Muhammad Adrian Azani bin Haji Muhammad Masjuna, a Youth Tilawah Al-Quran Scheme student.

 

One Thousand Seven Hundred and Eight participants took part in the ceremony. The participants comprised Mukim and Kampung Consultative Council members from all districts under the categories of Adult Men and Women, selected youths representing mukims and villages including students of Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Tahfiz Al-Quran Institute, Arabic Schools and Youth Tilawah Al- Quran Scheme.

 

The Khatam Al-Quran ceremony was also participated by boys and girls representing Arabic and Al-Falah Schools, Religious Schools and Khatam Al- Quran Scheme, Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah as well as school students nationwide, colleges and higher education institutions under the Ministry of Education.

 

The 76 Times Khatam Al-Quran Ceremony was a special pesambah for the Monarch and a symbol of love and undivided loyalty towards His Majesty.

 

The participation from the grassroots level and the public specifically the school students was the citizen's manifestation and undivided loyalty towards the Monarch, Religion and country.

 

Officers and teachers from the Islamic Studies Department recited the Takhtim.

 

Followed by the reading of tahlil by officers from the Mosque Affairs Department.

 

Doa Khatam was read by a khatam participant, Awang Muhammad Hasif Hasbullah bin Mohamad Sahrul, a Youth Tilawah Al-Quran Scheme student.

 

The Dikir Marhaban presented by the mosque officers from the Mosque Affairs Department as well as officers and teachers of Islamic Studies Department further enlivened the ceremony.

 

Doa selamat was read by the State Mufti.

 

The ceremony filled with blessings is in line with His Majesty's desire to for Al-Quran to be learned by reading, memorising as well as delving into the lessons of Al-Quran as Al-Quran is an everlasting asset to be benefited from while in the world even the blessings from it will follow until the hereafter.
