Kg Batang Mitus Appoint New Neighbourhood Watch Members

Twenty new members for the Kampong Batang Mitus, Lamunin Neighbourhood Watch were recently appointed a ceremony held at the Pengiran Muda Abdul Wakeel Mosque in Kiudang, Tutong.

 


Present as the guest of honour who also presented certificates to the newly appointed members was Acting Assistant Tutong District Officer, Haji Haizul Rizal bin Haji Yahya.

 


Also present was the Acting Commander of the Tutong District Police, DSP Ramzi Hayatina bin Dato Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Ibrahim and the Penghulu of Mukim Kiudang, Haji Abdul Rahim bin Abdullah Yakin who was also the Acting Village Head of Kampong Batang Mitus, Lamunin.

 


Prior  to  the certificate presentation, members of the Neighbourhood Watch were given a briefing on the roles and responsibilities related to the Neighbourhood Watch.

 


 Members of the Neighbourhood Watch are to work with the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) in joint operations with various other agencies to prevent criminal activities in the village and be involved in community or welfare works in assisting the village residents.

 


This initiative is one of the steps of community policing that enables village communities to take part in maintaining peace and security in their respective areas.
