BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

Telekom Brunei Berhad (TelBru) staff rolled up their sleeves yesterday to contribute to the country's blood bank in a campaign that was held at the company's headquarters in the capital according to a press release issued by TelBru.

A number of staff members donated pints of blood over the two hours of collection that was facilitated by the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital Blood Bank Unit whose community and social services to the country TelBru greatly appreciates and will continue to support.

With a variety of different demographics across departments and units that took part in the campaign, those who participated included veteran as well as first-time donors who, as they contained their nerves, expressed appreciation for the opportunity to contribute to Brunei's healthcare system and, ultimately, save lives.

As a first time donor, Nuraqillah binti Haji Jamaludin, assured other potential donors that, "The experience isn't as how others would describe," referring to the anxiety that often accompanies the sight of needles and the slight discomfort that donors may have to undergo. "I'd donate again in the future when the opportunity presents itself," she said.

The campaign is part and parcel of TelBru's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) that aims to instil charitable values in its people. As the premier telecommunication's provider in the country that has set its sights on 'Making a Difference', TelBru will continue to support the Bruneian community as and when needed.
