To get the latest progress on the improvement of several projects of the Department of Civil Aviation under the National Development Plan, especially for Brunei International Airport, Berakas, yesterday morning, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Engineer Awang Haji Suhaimi bin Haji Gafar, Minister of Development; and Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Abdul Mutalib bin Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Setia Dato Paduka Haji Mohammad Yusof, Minister of Transport and Infocommunication, made a working visit to the airport.

 

 The Runway Pavement Rehabilitation project, is to upgrade the area to enable the airport to receive the large aircraft currently used by cargo airlines around the world. Meanwhile, the Detention Pond Project is to build a Water Retention Pond and Drainage System to improve the process of rainwater drainage properly and to prevent floods. Meanwhile, repair works on the air conditioning system is expected to be completed in stages starting the end of this month until March 2023.

 

Meanwhile, four officers who have passed the ICAO 053 Approach Control Non-Radar course from the Singapore Aviation Academy received their certificates. Participating in the visit was Dato Seri Paduka Architect Awang Haji Marzuke bin Haji Mohsin, Deputy Minister of Development.
