Residents of the Kampung Mengkubau National Housing Scheme and the surrounding areas will have a new mosque that is built on an 8-acre land. Yesterday morning, a foundation laying ceremony was held for the said mosque.

The ceremony was officiated by Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs and Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Ingenieur Awang Haji Suhaimi bin Haji Gafar, Minister of Development. The mosque is expected to be completed by November 2022 with estimated allocation of 4 point 3 million dollars. The mosque can accommodate up to 2 thousand congregants. Also present, the Chief Syari'e Judge, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs, Deputy Minister of Development and Members of the Legislative Council.
