Having only 105 new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases per day, the National Capital Region is heading towards a “good” holiday season, independent research group OCTA said on Wednesday, Dec. 8.

“NCR at just 105 new cases per day. NCR, Malabon, Navotas, Caloocan, Pateros, Valenzuela, Marikina, Manila, Parañaque, Pasay, Las Piñas, Mandaluyong at very low risk,” OCTA research fellow and University of the Philippines professor Guido David said in a tweet.

The rest of the cities, according to report posted by David are low risk.

In NCR, OCTA said that the incidence or average daily attack rate (ADAR) was less than 1 at 0.74 per day per 100,000 population.

On the other hand, the reproduction number was very low at 0.34 while the test positivity rate was just 1.1 percent.

On Tuesday, the Department of Health (DOH) recorded its lowest COVID-19 single-day figures in 17 months with 356 new COVID-19 cases nationwide. The new figure was the lowest since July 2, 2020 when the country recorded only 294 cases.

The country is also at minimal risk case classification with a negative two week growth rate at negative 57 percent and a low risk average daily attack rate at 0.67 cases for every 100,000 individuals.
