Bruneian Imprisoned, Fined for Consuming Meth

A local man was yesterday sentenced by the Bandar Magistrate's Court to three years' imprisonment and ordered to pay a $700 fine, or serve an additional one-month imprisonment in default of payment, after he pleaded guilty to consumption and possession of utensils to administer Methylamphetarnine.
The defendant, Ali bin Haji Taha, was caught consuming the Class A drug on September 10, 2014 and urine tests were positive for the drug.
A day earlier, the defendant was arrested by raiding Narcotics enforcement officers who found a utensil containing traces of the same drug.
Narcotics Control Bureau Prosecutor Izan binti Haji Jaya prosecuted the case presided by Magistrate Pengiran Shahyzul Pengiran Abdul Rahman yesterday.
