Urban Youth Dance 2016 (UYD 2016) will be held at the National Culture Hall on Sep 9-10, 2016 with the sponsorship of Coca Cola Laos and Unilever Laos, among others.

“UYD 2016 aims to promote the co-existence of modern culture among youth and the traditional culture of Laos,” said Director of Fanglao Dance Company, Mr Ounla Phaoudom.

The Urban Youth Dance is the fourth of its kind.  The first edition was held in 2013, the second in 2014, and the third in 2015.

“Each time we have organized the event, there have been more than 15,000 people coming to see the performances,” said Mr Ounla Phaoudom.

This year, a trade fare will be organized on the sideline of the dance event and booths will be placed for the general public to make donations to the poor and victims of disasters.

Commentators have been invited from Thailand, Vietnam and Japan to help judge the winners who will be rewarded three million kip, two million kip and one million kip as the first, second and third prizes respectively.
