(KPL) Some 635 new cases of Covid-19 have been recorded nationwide over the previous 24 hours along with two deaths, bringing the totals to 33,606 and 47 respectively, according to the National Taskforce Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control.

Of the new confirmed cases, detected among 5,710 people tested for Covid-19 nationwide yesterday, 628 were classified as domestic infections and seven as imported- documented in the two provinces of Savannakhet and Champassak.

Director General of the Department of Communicable Disease Control, Ministry of Health, Dr Rattanaxay Phetsouvanh told a press conference today that 601 patients were discharged from hospital yesterday.

The highest domestic infections were reported in Vientiane 439 followed by Luang Prabang 72, Vientiane (province) 39, Khammuan 19, Champassak 18, Saravan 15, and Savannakhet 13.

One digit infections of Covid-19 were reported in Oudonxay six, Luang Namtha three, Bokeo two, Borikhamxay and Xekong one each.
