618 LSC Students Celebrated Proud Graduation Day

It was a day of celebration for 618 graduates yesterday as they received their certificates at the Laksamana College of Business (LCB) Graduation 2016 ceremony held at The Rizqun International Hotel in Gadong.

 

The ceremony was split into morning and afternoon sessions. The first was attended by Yang Berhormat Minister of Education Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suyoi bin Haji Osman as the guest of honour, while Deputy Minister of Education Pengiran Dato Paduka - Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar was present for the afternoon session.

 

Also in attendance were LCB Director Haji Suhaimei bin Haji Besar, KCB/LCB Principal and Director Ian Pirie, British High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam David Campbell, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Kensington College of Business (KCB) London Professor John Wilson.

 

Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam to Belgium Abu Sufian bin Haji Ali was also present at the morning session, while the afternoon session was also attended by Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman to witness their sons' graduation.

 

The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah by Haji Muhd Azrol Alim bin Haji Zaini, the Mosque Affairs Officer of Pintu Malim Mosque. This was followed by speeches from the Principal of KCB/LCB, the British High Commissioner and the Minister of Education.

 

The graduates comprised 75 students from the University Foundation Course; 104 in Pearson BTEC Level 5 HND in Computing; 71 in Pearson BTEC Level HND in Business (Accounting/Marketing); 53 in Pearson BTEC Level 5 HND in Hospitality Management; 123 in Pearson BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Business; 15 in Pearson BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Hospitality; 104 in Pearson B Level 2 Certificate in Business; 12 in KCB Certificate in Business Management; five in KCB Diploma in Business Management; 10 in KCB Advanced Diploma in Business Management; and 14 in KCB Higher Diploma in Business Management.

 

Speaking to the Media, the graduates expressed pride in participating in the ceremony.

 

Ahmad Khusairi bin Azman, graduate in Pearson BTEC Level 5 HND in Computing and Systems Development, is delighted to have made his parents and family proud. He plans to further his studies with a degree at LCB.

Nurul Fazirah binti Haji Besar, graduate in Pearson BTEC Level 5 HND in Business (Accounting/ Marketing), was thankful for the guidance of her lecturers, and noted she "will strive for the better in the future in continuing her studies."

 

Meanwhile, Muhammad Azizan Akmal, who recently graduated from a University Foundation course and is currently continuing his studies for BA Common Year 1, expressed jubilation for the hardship he has overcome, and expressed gratitude to his mother for the unwavering support given during his studies at Laksamana College of Business.
