Isn’t it so annoying when you’re on the run from the law and the police use an unflattering photo of you for their appeal?
Teenager Amy Sharp probably thought her troubles were over after she successfully escaped from her prison in Sydney on August 19.
However, the 18-year-old was mortified to find that the police and media had been circulating her mugshot around in their appeals for help from the public.
7 News Sydney wrote: ‘Hunt for 18-year-old Amy Sharp who fled Surry Hills Corrective Services Cell Complex. Last seen on Riley Street at 3pm on Friday.’
They also included a police statement, and Sharp’s mugshots.
To be fair, mugshots are pretty terrible. You always look tired and a bit dishevelled from the scuffle of your arrest – and the lighting is way too harsh.
So, naturally, Amy replied to 7 News Sydney’s Facebook post about her with a slightly nicer picture of herself.
‘Can you use this photo, please and thank you… Yours truly, Amy Sharp xx’, she wrote.
Some commenters suggested the police track her whereabouts using her post, Daily Mail Australia reported.
We’re not 100% sure whether this was possible, but they did manage to arrest her in the early hours of Saturday morning.
