Atletico Madrid Need To Keep 'Calm and Continue Working' - Diego Simeone

Diego Simeone's Atletico Madrid have mustered just two points from the first two weeks of the La Liga campaign.

Diego Simeone has called for patience after Atletico Madrid drew their second straight match of the new La Liga campaign, 0-0 away at newly-promoted Leganes.

After dropping points in a 1-1 draw at home against Alaves in the first week of the season, Los Rojiblancos once again failed to fire against relegation-favourites Leganes.

Simeone, however, believes that if his players continue to work hard, then the results will begin to fall their way.

"I absolutely think that with work and enthusiasm we will find what we are looking for. This is the way," the Atleti manager said after the match.

"In other matches we had fewer chances to score and we scored and in these first two games it's been the opposite. Now, we have to be calm and continue working.

"The team is eager to demonstrate the full potential. I'm very happy with the work of the players."

New Atletico signing Kevin Gameiro, along with strike partner Antoine Griezmann, both had chances to win the match for the away side. But poor finishing -- along with a string of fine saves from Leganes keeper Jon Ander Serantes -- kept the match deadlocked.

"To win we need to create scoring situations and not allow that to happen to us," Simeone said.

"I believe that we are creating scoring situations and they are not created against us, so we only need to finish these chances."

Things will not get any easier for Atletico Madrid, with their next match in La Liga away at Celta Vigo on Sept. 10, after the international break.
