DARE Hosts Visit to Business Delegation from Vietnam

A business delegation from the Socialist Republic of Vietnam received a briefing from DARE (Darussalam Enterprise) yesterday.
The briefing was held as part of the official state visit programme of the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Tran Dai Quang. The purpose of the briefing was to share information and exchange views on the various opportunities that could be potentially tapped by businesses of both countries.
In the briefing, DARE emphasised the government's commitment towards providing an effective platform to pave the way for more tangible opportunities that will lead to sustainable and dynamic growth of Brunei businesses.
This, among others, include exploring investment and partnership opportunities with regional and international industry players in various potential sectors in order to enhance and strengthen the level of competitiveness of local businesses and increase their market network beyond Brunei.
On hand to deliver a presentation at yesterday's briefing was Soon Loo, the CEO of DARE. Among those present at the briefing were Awang Adi Shamsul bin Haji Sabli, Permanent Secretary (Industry) at the Prime Minister's Office, and Awang Haji Mohamad Azmi bin Haji Mohd Hanifah, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Energy and Industry) at the Prime Minister's Office.
Following the briefing, the delegation visited three foreign direct investment (FDI) companies that are operating in DARE industrial parks, namely MC Biotech Sdn Bhd, CAE Brunei Multi-Purpose Training Centre and Simpor Pharma Sdn Bhd. Following this, the delegation went on to visit Brunei LNG Sdn Bhd in Lumut and Brunei Methanol Company Sdn Bhd (BMC) located at Sungai Liang Industrial Park (SPARK).
The delegation comprised senior government officials of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) as well as members of the Vietnam business community from various sectors.
Yesterday's visits will be followed by a business matching session with Brunei's local business community which will be held today at The Empire Hotel & Country Club.
