BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN
Muslims were reminded yesterday that prayers are the best defence against wrongdoing, and also a means of communication with Allah the Almighty.
During the Friday sermon, religious authorities said that prayers are man's appeal to his Creator. "A person who prays is closer to Allah the Almighty, since the act of supplication means that he has full confidence in the will of Allah the Almighty."
Imams also reminded that glorifying Allah the Almighty encompasses all good acts, including personal prayers, aside from observing the five main pillars of Islam.
The sermon concluded by reminding Muslims to observe proper etiquette before offering prayers, including performing ritual ablution, facing the Kiblat (prayer direction), beginning and ending the prayer by praising Allah the Almighty and reciting short prayers for blessings (Selawat) upon the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).
