A briefing on nationalism entitled 'Embracing the National Anthem and National Flag' for a total of 162 Year 7 students of Lambak Kiri Secondary School (SMLK) organised by the Information Department was held yesterday at the school's library.

Present to deliver the talk yesterday was the Information Assistant Officer, Awang Haji Salleh bin Haji Yusof, who touched on the history of Brunei's national anthem and the procedures of raising and lowering national flag.

It then continued with a video clip presentation and students laterparticipated in a quiz hosted by Awang Haji Rahime @ Haji Maznibi bin Haji Anuar, Information Field Officer.

The objectives of the programme included the enhancement of the students' understanding of the meaning of the national flag and anthem, creation of awareness and instilling the feeling of love towards their nation, religion and country.

At the same time, it also aims towards raising awareness among the students in appreciating and understanding life within a race, religion and nation that is based on the nation's philosophy of Malay Islamic Monarchy (MIB).
