Three-time President Cup winners XN FT have maintained that their title defence would not be an easy ride with other clubs determined to dethrone the ex-national players' team chasing to create more history.

XN FT are on course for a historic double with their next competitive match scheduled to be in the FA Cup against Mohais FC before meeting tricky I Team a week later in the President's Cup.

The reigning President Cup holders have already lifted the Sumbangsih Cup after beating Ministry of Development earlier this season.

Despite smooth progression in the latter stages of both competitions, XN FT will not rest on their laurels and carries the thinking that they need to overcome barriers to success in every round.

"The team who pose the most threat to XN FT's hopes is the next opponent we face. As I've mentioned after the Sumbangsih Cup earlier this year, there are a lot of contenders that will mount a serious challenge this season", XN FT team captain Pengiran Isa bin Pengiran Haji Aliuddin said in an interview ahead of their FA Cup semi-final on Friday.

Pengiran Isa has previously told the Media after the Sumbangsih Cup triumph in February that as many as 20 teams is at a par with XN FT and will be competitive.

The team captain also paid tribute to their set of opponents in Mohais FC and I Team for assembling a team including managers which is feared, committed, organised and disciplined.

With a date against I Team, who are still involved in both competitions, to look forward to, Pengiran Isa noted that XN FT will try their very best to reach both finals.

"We have won the President Cup three times and nearly all of the players have achieved all but in retrospect other teams will have a high level of confidence to defeat XN FT", he added.

The team captain also referred the exemplary behaviour of the players who have taken their own initiative to optimise their fitness levels despite the perceived lack of friendly matches.

"This is what you call players in high spirits", Pengiran Isa said.

In the face of determined opposition, Pengiran Isa agreed that the team has shown consistency. "The key to these strengths reflects the strong unity among the players of which makes it easy in team formation and tactics as well as preserving discipline and commitment", the team captain concluded.
