Trial and error play a part in learning, so students are advised to conduct research prior to making decisions, said Awang Haji Ady Syarmin bin Haji Md Taib, Director of the International and Public Relations Office of Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB).

"We are here to help students make educated decisions when selecting places of study and choosing a discipline or programme," Haji Ady Syarmin said at the Sayyidina Ali Secondary School (SMSA) Career Exploration and 'Hala Tuju'.

To illustrate the different styles of studying, he highlighted the recently introduced Taught Masters programmes.
"It depends on what the students want as the Taught Masters programmes are mostly lecture theatre-themed," he said.

Awang Zaidey Harris, of Pre-U1/H1 taking Biology, Psychology and English Literature, said he wished to study in Australia.

"This event helped me gain better knowledge of the place I wish to study at," said Zaidey. "I feel that this new perspective will help me prepare myself when I finally move to study in Australia."

The event saw the participation of More than 20 agencies, including Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA), UTB, Politeknik Brunei (PB) and Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) and as well as departments from the different ministries including the Survey Department, Nursing, Dentistry, Tourism and Agriculture.
