The two suspects in the murder case of an Indonesian woman in Belait District on the 10th of October were brought before the Bandar Seri Begawan Magistrate's Court yesterday afternoon for a mention of the case.

During the session, the Public Prosecutor applied to the court for the first defendant, which is suspect, Hassan bin Yussof to be remanded in custody for another two weeks to enable the police to carry out further investigation. Meanwhile, for the second defendant, the Public Prosecutor applied for the suspect, Rosnani binti Tanga, to be admitted for two weeks at Mental Health Unit, Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Hospital to undergo and complete a psychiatric assessment.

The suspects, 65 years old, Hassan bin Yussof and 51 years old, Rosnani binti Tanga, were charged with the murder of the 38 years old Indonesian woman in a house at the Landless Indigenous Citizens Housing Scheme in Jalan Derma Wangsa, Kuala Belait. The case is being investigated under Section 302 which is Murder, Chapter 22 of the Criminal Penal Code. The case will be brought for further mention at 2 in the afternoon on the 23rd of November.
