To celebrate the 70th birth anniversary celebration of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam with religious activities, the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) once again held 70 Times Khatam Al-Quran as the special contribution of the workforce to the caring monarch during the current birthday festivity.

It was also to pray to Allah the Almighty for the longevity of the ruler and for the well-being and prosperity of the monarch, the people and the nation.

Present was the Minister of Religious Affairs, Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman.

Some 2,100 officers and staff of the ministry comprising of 45 male and 25 female groups were involved in the recitations held at Jame' 'Asr Hassanil Bolkiah, Kampong Kiarong.

It began with the recitation of Surah AlFatihah by the minister followed by Khatam Al-Quran from Surah Ad-Dhuhaa to Surah An-Nas by the staff.

It was later followed by Takhtim, Dikir Marhaban and Doa Khatam.
