The Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) and its departments held a Hari Raya gathering and a thanksgiving ceremony for the completion of this year's royal birthday celebration of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's 70th birthday.

This year the gathering was hosted by the Prisons Department with an 'open house' concept, where respective departments have their raya food booth for officers and staffs from other departments to visit and enjoy the delicacies.

Present as the guest of honour was the Minister of Home Affairs, Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Dr. Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong and his spouse.

Also present were the permanent secretary, deputy permanent secretaries at the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Among the highlights of the event was the performance from the Tausyeh and Cultural Body of the Prisons Department.

The minister and his spouse also touredthe booth area to enjoy some of the delicacies in store during the afternoon.

In his speech, the minister highlighted the meaning of such a gathering for officers and staffs at the ministry. Such a gathering was a good platform not only to celebrate the Raya and success of the celebration of the royal birthday this year but also would strengthen tics and friendship between each other.
