A twenty-eight-year-old local man and a twenty-six-year-old foreign woman were recently arrested by the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) for allegedly selling airsoft guns which are prohibited in the country.
An RBPF statement said the police personnel managed to seize the toy guns at one of the commercial buildings in Gadong on July 25.
The RBPF received information on the sale of toy airsoft guns that use plastic ball pellets from the social media.
The case will be investigated under the Arms and Explosive Act, Rule 17 (1) Arms and Explosive Act Rule 1 Section 2. The offence carries a prison sentence of at least five years. The case will be referred to the Attorney General's Chambers for further action.
The RBPF advised the public not to get involved in the sale and purchase of prohibited items and urged them to report any suspicious activity to the police hotline at 993 or the nearest police station.
