The Ministry of Finance has announced that His Majesty Sultan 'Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam consented for the Supply and State Stores Department, Ministry of Finance to be absorbed into the Treasury Department, Ministry of Finance under the Financial Services and Supply Division effective August 1, 2016.

The absorption is part of the Ministry of Finance's initiatives to streamline the functions of all departments and divisions under the Ministry of Finance towards the optimal use of existing resources for increasing productivity in a cost-effective manner.

The absorption is intended to strengthen the management of duties and responsibilities in the Ministry of Finance and departments under it, in particular the Supply and State Stores Department.

In this regard, all matters related to the supplies of rice, sugar, office equipment, National Flag of Brunei Darussalam and crockery will still run as usual at the existing office at Jalan Gadong.
